This App is one of the most used Google apps on iOS and consistently in the top ten free apps on iOS. Crafting a unique experience for Google on iOS required thinking deeply about the unique value that we could bring.

Google has several different unique iOS apps across their suite of services but with some overlap, for example: Chrome, Google Search in Safari, and this Google Search App.


We focused on a few core aspects: Speed, bringing personal & relevant content to the user (Google Now), enabling multi-tasking, richer & deeper experiences (Maps, Search suggest).

Bringing deeper experiences in Search was a high priority for us, and we did this by enabling users to multi-task more effectively when going through a search journey. Additionally, offering deeper native experiences on the search results page such as through our image viewing or Maps experience

As users typed, we wanted to bring rich answers, shortcuts and better entity recognition. The work carried throughout Google search experiences even outside of the iOS GSA, unifying the search experience across Google products. Apps like Google maps utilized on the suggest framework we created.

Google's rebrand in 2015 was a critical moment in the company's history that has defined the design language for all of Google's products.


Worked closely with the seed studio within Google and partner teams for the implementation of the new design language, everything from the icon, Homepage, Voice Assistant, Google doodles and more.
